◘◘◘

Christmas has come to pass....
Merry December 27th! :D
I have been very neglectful of this blog. I had a lot of stuff to do. Mostly sewing because I made a bunch of stuff for Christmas gifts. It was fun but very time consuming.

Emily and I went outside to play in the snow, earlier. It snowed a lot yesterday. I also took some pictures of the snow. I couldn't take as many as I wanted to, though. My stupid memory card got all filled up because I haven't taken pictures off my memory card in awhile.
That's what I'm doing right now- uploading pictures off of my camera and onto the computer. There's 300 pictures and it's taking forever.

Emily and I are going to watch some Psych season three in a little bit. We're waiting for a DVD player to get freed up. That's what happens when everyone in the family gets DVDs for Christmas.

I'm sure everyone has heard it said before that God blesses us in ways that we don't expect. It really is true and it really hit me last week.
There's this poster I got a frame for and it was hanging on the wall of Emily and I's room above Emily's bed.
Not long after I bought the frame, I noticed that one of the hooks on the back of the frame had gotten bent funny and was causing the poster to hang weirdly. I took the poster off of the wall and leaned it against my wall.
A week ago, while I was wrapping Christmas presents, I bumped against the poster. I barely touched it and yet cracks were sent up all through the glass. I guess there was a flaw or something in the glass.
I was sad that the frame was rendered useless and that I'd have to buy another frame.
But then I had a thought that made me grateful that the frame had broken when it had.
What if the frame had fallen off the wall while Emily was sleeping? I could be blogging right now about how my little sister is in the ER instead of telling about my broken frame.
So thank you, God. Thank you for causing that hook to bend and saving Emily from a trip to the hospital.
It's the season of multiple holidays and there's plenty to be thankful for.
From littler things like food to eat to larger things like a failed terror plot, there's an abundance of things to be grateful for.

Let it SNOWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!

It's snowing! It's snowing!
It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!It’s snowing!
Snow is awesome. Except for when you want/need to go somewhere and you can't. Then snow is just annoying.
The young and young at heart love snow. Those that have to go hate it though.
^.^
I wanna go outside and take pictures of the snow but I can't right now :( I WILL LATER THOUGH!
:D

I had to make lunch today for my little sister EMily and myself. I made pasta that had olive oil & veggies on it. Emily said she liked it more than Mom's pasta. Yay! :-P

I don't know why but for some reason I keep hitting the wrong keys on the keyboard today. I have had way more typos today than I usually have. It's weird. Yeah.
It's very annoying. I keep having to retype stuff. >.<

Ch-ch-ch-changes!

I changed my blog backround and the colors to something more Christmas/Winter-y.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

My synchro team has another competition this weekend! We're leaving on Friday. The people that are getting on the bus in WI have to get to the rink at 5 AM! I don't have to get on the bus until... 6? 6:30 ish? Something like that.

I'm going to sew later. I'm making some Christmas presents. I'm also going to do laundry, watch Monk, and possibly make an apple pie. Yay.

The old sewing machine my grandma gave me... died. Well, it didn't die... not exactly anyway. Last night, my mom and I sat down to figure out how to work the thing. The tension is all messed up. We spent forever trying to get the tension right. And then do you know what happened? The knob for adjusting the tension fell off. So then it took even more time just to get the knob back on.

And wait folks, it gets even better.

The sewing store that's like 1/2 an hour away from my house that I could take my sewing machine to to get fixed, is closed. Yeah, after over twenty years of business, the place goes out of business. The closest place now is like over an hour away.
My mom said that if I really want to get the machine fixed, we could. But it could be expensive to fix or they might not be able to fix it so it might just be better to go out and buy a new machine.
So for now I'm just going to continue using my mom's machine.

Advent has started! Yaaaaaaaaaaaay! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

HELLO

My synchro team:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XcGbeOm6W8

I'm going to see Hairspray on Wednesday!!!!!!! :D I'm so excited. Hairspray and Joseph and the Amasing Technicolor Dreamcoat are my favorite musicals. And I've already seen Joseph performed so yeah :D
Random lyrics:

Way way back many centuries ago,
Not long after the Bible began
Jacob lived in the land of Canaan,
A fine example of a family man.
Jacob, Jacob and sons,
Depended on farming to earn their keep.
Jacob, Jacob and sons,
Spent all of his days in the fields with sheep.
Jacob was the founder of a whole new nation
Thanks to the number of children he had
He was also known as Israel,
but most of the time
His sons and his wives used to call him Dad.
Jacob, Jacob and sons,
Men of the soil, of the sheaf and crook
Jacob, Jacob and sons,
A remarkable family in anyone's book.
Reuben was the eldest of the children of Israel
With Simeon and Levi the next in line
Naphtali and Isaachar with Asher and Dan
Zebulun and Gad took the total to nine
Jacob, Jacob and sons,
Benjamin and Judah,
which leaves only one
Jacob, Jacob and sons,J
oseph - Jacob's favourite son
Jacob, Jacob and sons
Jacob, Jacob and sons
Jacob, Jacob and sons
Jacob Jacob Jacob
Jacob and Sons

Oh, oh, oh
Woke up today
Feeling the way i always do
Oh, oh, oh
Hungry for something
That i can't eat
Then i hear that beat
The rhythm of town
Starts calling me down
It's like a message from high above
Oh, oh, oh
Pulling me out
To the smiles and the Streets that i love
Good morning Baltimore
Every day's like an open door
Every night is a fantasy
Every sound's like a symphony
Good morning Baltimore
And some day when i take to the floor
The world's gonna wake up and see
Baltimore and me
Oh, oh, oh
Look at my hair
What "do" can compare with mine today?
Oh, oh, oh,
I've got my hairspray and radio I'm ready to go
The rats on the street
All dance round my feet
They seem to say "Tracy, it's up to you"
So, oh, oh
Don't hold me back
'Cause today all my dreams will come true
Good morning Baltimore
There's the flasher who lives next door
There's the bum on his bar room stool
They wish me luck on my way to school
Good morning Baltimore
And some day when i take to the floor
The world's gonna wake up and see
Baltimore and me
I know every step I know every song
I know there's a place where i belong
I see all those party lights shining ahead
So someone invite me
Before i drop dead!
Before she drops dead!
So, Oh, Oh
Give me a chance
'Cause when i start to dance i'm a movie star
Oh, oh, oh
Something inside of me makes me move
When i hear the groove
My ma tells me no
But my feet tell me go!
It's like a drummer inside my heart
Oh, oh, oh
Don't make me wait
One more moment for my life to start.
I love you Baltimore
Every day's like an open door
Every night is a fantasy
Every sound's like a symphony
And i promise Baltimore
That some day when I take to the floor
The world's gonna wake up and see
Gonna wake up and see
Baltimore and me
Yes, More Or Less We All Agree
Baltimore and me.
Someday the world Is gonna see
Baltimore and me!

And now your life has been enriched with those wonderful lyrics. :DDDDD

THANKSGIVING IS ON THURSDAY! :D
So that means lots of cooking with my mom. Like every other meal at my house, Thanksgiving is always completely homemade. My mom, Grandma, and I always split the cooking. My grandma makes all her southern stuff at her house and brings them to our house. My mom does stuff like the turkey and I do biscuits and table setting and yeah. I'm like forgetting what all the stuff is that we always do. Oh, and my mom always makes a BIG bowl of mashed potatoes. My mom's mashed potatoes go quickly. :D
I wonder if my family is going to have movie night. We always watch a movie Thanksgiving night but we didn't do it last year because no one could think of a movie that everyone wanted to watch. No one has suggested a movie for this year yet :(
I was babysitting last week and I asked the five year old girl that I babysit if she was excited for Thanksgiving.
"No."
"Why?"
"I'm more excited for Christmas."
Isn't that cute?!

Friday is almost here. Now you're probably thinking, "Oh! That's Black Friday! You're looking forward to huge crowds in little malls just to get a good deal like everyone else!"
Nope. Not me. I've never set foot in a store on Black Friday. The closest I've come is ordering my camera from the Best Buy website last year (hundred dollar discount and I didn't have to leave my house to get it!).
So why I'm looking forward to Friday is because that's Christmas Tree Day in my family. My family always goes to a tree farm to cut down a tree the day after Thanksgiving. My dad takes a video and people take pictures. It's always funny because we do like these staged pictures and scripted video.
Ir's funny watching videos from previous years. But now that Stephanie and Christina are adults and have work and college and all that fun stuff, it's not always the whole family anymore. Stephanie has to work on Black Friday.
So we make a trip out to a tree farm, cut down a tree, do the maze and stuff that they have there, come home, and start getting Christmas decorations out. :D

Speaking of Christmas, I should probably get started on making my Christmas gifts.
And speaking of making Christmas gifts, I need to get the sewing machine from my Grandma so I can make gifts.

Hmm...

Blogger keeps putting this random tag in my posts. I'll type out my post, hit Publish Post, and then Blogger will tell me it can't publish the post because of that tag. I'm not putting any tags in my posts! I know hardly any HTML so it's not like I'm messing with the layout or anything >.<

Stupid internet. Stupid computer. Stupid Blogger.
Q. What did people complain about before there was computers?
A. They complained about stuff like... I really don't know :-P
I'm getting my haircut today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's the first time in like two years. My hair is sooo long now! I'm going to get my haircut is this beauty school place. It's cool because it's like the student and instructor and the student gets to learn. I've never been there before, though. People in my family have. Yeahhhhhhhhh.
I'm making an Indian dish for dinner tonight! It is very tasty. It has garbanzo beans in it. :D

I've gotten myself a handy dandy ticker to keep track of my savings! Thanks Alegna! :D
I've decided that since I don't know what laptop I want and it's gonna be awhile before I can buy one, I'm just going to make my goal of savings 2500. Because with that much money, I could either get a Mac or a PC that converts into a tablet. Those are cool. They're expensive, though. And some of them aren't very good. But there's one I found that's a decent laptop and the touchscreen works well. Plus, said laptop apparently works really well with Windows 7. It's sooooo expensive, though! It's like umm... $2372 or something like that. I just checked. It's $2374 so I was close enough. But that's really expensive especially considering that that price doesn't include any extras. There's laptops out there for $2000 less than that! Gah, but I want a nice one so the wait will be worth it in the end.

Pronunciation Guide

A lot of people I know say Ghirardelli weirdly. They make the G like a J and make the Italian name sound slightly French. So they say it like "zhira-delli". My mom decided to find out the proper way to say it. Turns out we were right! This is what it says on the offical site:

The correct spelling and pronunciation of the Italian name "Ghirardelli" has long stumped even the most avid consumers of Ghirardelli Chocolate.
Domingo Ghirardelli, the founder of Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, must have resigned himself to the fact that only by a miracle was anybody going to get his name right: the original name of the chocolate company when it opened for business in 1852 was "Ghirardely & Girard."
The spelling of the name Ghirardelli may have been an early attempt to indicate the correct pronunciation.
Throughout its early history, the company has had to cope with all this and even incorporated it into early packaging labels and advertising campaigns.
For many years, a bright colored parrot and the words, "Say Gear-ar-delly," (a phonetic spelling of the name) were used to help solve the pronunciation problem. The strategy proved to be very successful

I bet you didn't know this but...

...it's Fall! *gasp gasp*
Yeah, you've been enlightened. No need to thank me, it's just what I do.
Halloween is the day after tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love Halloween. You get free candy AND get to dress up without people thinking you're totally insane/weird. It's like the best idea ever!**

I'm hungry. I bet you so wanted to know that. Again, there's no need to thank me.

If you read this blog, could you please either follow or comment? It'd be nice to know if people actually see/read this.

Today I went to buy a bagel and one of the librarians from my library was there! She was buying a bagel too. It was a very exciting experience. I think I'm gonna write a book about it.

Earlier, my little sister spilt hot tea down her front. Now she has a burn down her chest. Can you say "OW"?
Hellooooo! I didn't hear you say it!
*grumbles about the weird people in this world*

I'm currently writing a paper where I have to give examples on some Homeric Similes in The Iliad.
This is what I have so far:

Homer often used similes in his books. A simile is “a figure of speech in which two unlike things are explicitly compared, as in “she is like a rose.”” Homer’s use of similes in his storytelling give a vivid image of what’s happening. He most often used similes when describing a battle.

Homer also used a lot of similes that use animals as an example. Such as this one:
"As ravenous wolves come swooping down on lambs…so the Achaeans mauled the Trojans." (p. 424, 415).
This simile gives a clear image of what is happening. It means the Greeks are viciously fighting the Trojans, who really have no chance of surviving.

There is also many similes that use the elements as examples.
“As a heavy surf assaults some roaring coast,
piling breakers on breaker whipped by the West Wind,
and out on the open sea a crest first rears its head
then pounds down on the shore with hoarse, rumbling thunder
against some rocky spit, exploding salt foam to the skies-
so wave on wave they came, Achaean battalions ceaseless,
surging on to war.” (p. 159, 489-495) This simile shows how powerful and never-ceasing the Greek army is. It calls to mind a vivid image of the Greeks charging the Trojans.

Blech. I hate how when you copy&paste something the spacing gets messed up :(
And blogger is stupid so the spacing on my paper is gonna be all weird in this post.

THE END

**with the exception of inter-library loans. Those are awesome. So yeah, Halloween & inter-library loans are great ideas. A not so great idea is making toast and drying your hair while you're in the shower.

update: for some reason, Blogger keeps messing up the spacing in this post and making the text underneath the flower picture wraparound the side of the picture. I tried to change this but it wouldn't work :(

Security=Fail

So yesterday, I bought a dress from my favorite store. The cashier dude forgot to take off the plastic security tag thingamajig. So now I have to take the dress back to get it removed.
Evidently this store's security system is either broken or fake.
Both are possible.
Blah! I'm soooo bad at blogging. You could say that it's just because I need practice at it. But the TRUTH is that my thoughts are too random to even make sense so I don't know what to post. Because this blog has to be readable, ya know?

Where does the one-legged waitress work?

Whether or not you admit it, is up to you.
But the truth remains the same.

The end is near!
Wait for it...wait for it... waaaiiiit foooor iiiiiiiiiiiiiit...

Random Thoughts Are...

...Pretty much all that's gonna be in this blog. Yeah. So, you've been warned!
